This variety goldfish has become well known since Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) and is loved most by Japanese. The body is short and stout with extremely developed and fleshy sacs that extend from the head to cheeks covering eyes and mouth, looking strong and graceful quite similar to an awe-inspiring lion. The plumper the sac is, the more precious it is; and those of top grade are fairly expensive. In respect of colors, red ones are most common with many new colors increased in recent years.

If you (in US) intend to import goldfish or other wildlife for commercial purposes, the regulations contained in Title 50, of the Code of Federal Regulations, Part 14.91, should be followed. You must obtain an Import/Export license prior to engaging in business as an importer or exporter of wildlife or wildlife products by this regulation.

The license is valid for one year from the date of issuance and costs $100.00. In addition, as an Import/Export license holder, you must pay a $55.00 inspection fee for each shipment of import or export under the license.

All details are available on the site of  the "U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service" . You just follow the online instruction to apply the Import/Export license .

17.(Goldfish)Red Bubble-eye

This goldfish is a mutant of Red Egg-fish and extremely rare and precious among goldfish. It is in a similar shape as common Egg-fish with the only difference of two half-transparent bulbs full of liquid under eyeballs and protruding out of eye sockets, hence the name. Such bulbs can either be small hard ones or developed and big ones extruding eyeballs half skyward. The bulb membrane is very thin with clear line-shaped capillary tubes. When it swims, these two bulbs will wave around like two big lanterns, which look very charming. So far the varieties having appeared include Red and White Bubble-eye, White Bubble-eye, Blue Bubble-eye, and Transparent Bubble-eye, etc., and those appearing in recent years enjoy much richer colors and hence are more loved.

Last Friday, I had a shipment from Shanghai to Toronto, than be trasfered to US.

 

I thought I could take a short break and continued to post my pics onto my blog after shipping. But you'd  never known......I found the shipment haven't checked in Toronto and it supposed to arrive Toronto 3 hours ago and should be transfered to US soon! However.... I couldn't find any information on the website of the Air Canada Cargo and it used to enable to be tracked online.

 

OMG! What am I going to do? I got blank in my mind. Suddently I got an idea lighted up, Call Toronto!  I picked the phone up and asked for help. They told me Toronto was hit by a big storm last night and now was screwed up! Thank these very nice guys! They finally found my fish and was preparing to get them on board! 

 

I called  my customer right way let him know what was going on there. I couldn't sleep that night until my customer gave me an email said he received the shipment and dead on arrival was very low!

 This goldfish's shape is like Red Lion-head with plump sacs and red and white body color. 13.(Goldfish)Red and Transparent Egg-fish with Narial Bouquets

This variety of goldfish was early mentioned in 1893 in "Bamboo Pavilion Miscellanies" written by Yao Yuanzhi, which said it had both soft and hard scales. Soft scales are transparent and colorless, through which you may faintly see bowels; while hard ones have colors and part of them may be reflective. The body is mainly covered by soft scales with scattered hard ones. Those having such kind of scales are collectively called "Red and Transparent" goldfish. The body is long and round with red and white narial bouquets.

December 08 Goldfish is a freshwater fish native to eastern Asia, characteristically having brassy or reddish coloring and bred in many ornamental forms as an aquarium fish. It's below Cyprinidae family and this species is called Carassius auratus. A small plain carp which lived in the ponds of the south and central China was the ancestor of the goldfish. Those different and colorful varieties of carp were never stopped to be put into the circle of breeding and selection again and again by human being until they are become today's goldfish. There are many Egg-fish having curled opercula, but purple ones are new. However, it is a pity that the opercula is not curled enough to be very obvious.

This kind of goldfisht is named by the color variation of its eyes. Normal ones are black, while this variety has white body and bubble eyes that are either red or blue, or one red and one blue.

This is a color variation found among Red Bubble-eyes in 1984. Bubbles are normal and well developed and the head and tail are brown, while the body is tawny and glistening, which is fairly peculiar of great depth. The coloration has become gradually stable after two years' cultivation.

Big patches in strong colors may make one feel dull, while small and broken patches with obvious blue grounding will make one feel happy and vivacious, which hence have become quite popular in recent years.

This is also an old variety coming out in 1930s but then discontinued until recently re-cultivated. Those in strong colors are of top grade.

Blue is rare for Bubble-eyes, and Blue Bubble-eye came out as a crossbred of Blue Egg-fish with Phoenix Tail and White Bubble-eye. The second generation has increasingly bigger bubbles and deeper colors.

2.(Goldfish,Egg-fish)Black Duplex Bubble-eye

Bubble-eye is well known for having special bubbles, which include red, red and white, and multicolored ones, while black ones are not so common. This variety is as deep dark as black velour, and what is most appreciated is two bubble-eyes of similar size growing in tandem on each side. This is a special variation among Bubble-eyes and is extremely rare and precious.

This category goldfish so called " Egg-fish" because the goldfish's body is short and round like duck's egg. As early as in 1780s, it's called "Duck-egg Fish". Those fish don't have dorsal fin and other fins are very short. However,some goldfish like "Egg-fish with Phoenix Tail" has long fins and its tailfin is very long like phoenix tail.The "Egg-fish"'s eyes are usually flat rather than protruding out of eye sockets. This species enjoys better vitality than Dragon-eye and Fantail goldfish and are easy bred to grow fast.

It was successfully cultivated in 1956 and once was shown in a goldfish exhibition in Wuhan. Since yellow goldfish is rather rare, it wins many appreciations. The body is short and robust with khaki grounding and blackish scales scattered on the whole body. The khaki color shows faintly like wrapped in a black and orange tiger hide. Besides, it has narial bouquets, hence the name.
